Wearable design for urban bikers

I inherited the passion for bicycles from my father, an enthusiast cyclist who, in young age, was used to ride the Italian Alps. The landscape for this project is the urban road, where safety and fashion inhabit the same space. The design includes a glove and a jumper. A force-sensing resistor is embedded inside the glove. When the brake is pulled, the LED stitched on the back of the jumper lights on, warning the cyclist behind.

The prototype has been developed with LightBlue Bean, an Arduino/Genuino compatible board during a course in Wearable design at CIID, Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design, in the summer 2015.

Project in collaboration with Lotte Nerup and Gustavo Bodner.
